Keeping Control of Your Company’s Inventory With Top Inventory Apps

I’ve been working with my brother at a small clinic he opened a few weeks ago. He has really put in a lot of work in getting all the equipment he needs and hiring the right personnel to get things going. However, I did notice that although he has a system for keeping control of inventory, it could use some improvements.

So, I took it upon myself to find the best apps for inventory control, to streamline the process and always have inventory information handy. After spending some time on Google, I came across a site called that has a list of the top 10 inventory control apps.

Best 10 Apps for Inventory Control by AppGrooves

I tested some of the apps on their list and reviewed my top 3 favorites.

Book Keeper – Inventory Control & Accounting in One Place

My first pick is Book Keeper. What I really like about it is that not only can you keep track of inventory, but you can also do all your accounting. Although my background isn’t in accounting, I found the process of creating estimates and invoices simple and straightforward. I also liked that you can even keep track of sales and purchases too. Another big plus I found is that the interface is really simple and easy to use. I particularly liked that you can easily see a financial overview of your company, with detailed reports like cash flow statements and balance sheets accessible with just a few taps. I also found the inventory control tools to be really useful as you can differentiate inventory in different warehouses, review inventory turnover information, create your own measurement units, and even include manufacturing journals.

The only drawback I found is that you need a subscription for unrestricted access to Book Keeper’s accounting and inventory control features. However, you can test out the features for free with a 30-day trial to see if it is right for you. I also liked that there are a variety of monthly and yearly plans to choose from, so you can find the one that best suits your needs.

Inventory & Barcode Scanner & WIFI scanner (Android) – Scan Items

My second pick is Inventory & Barcode Scanner & WIFI Scanner for Android. I like that you can choose from several configuration options to adapt the inventory control system to suit your business model. I also liked that you can scan barcodes and QR codes for a quick way to register inventory information. Items that are not in the database can be entered easily enough, which is also super convenient. Another plus I found is that all your information is synced automatically to the cloud, so you can access it anywhere you go.

I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of inventory control features. However, it did take me a bit of trial and error to figure out my way through the app. If you need any help navigating through the tools, the support team is quick to respond, so can continue your work without any problems.

iCollect Everything (iOS)– Best Choice for Collectors Items

My third pick is iCollect Everything for iOS. Although I found it to be excellent for keeping an inventory on personal collections, I also found that it could be very useful to businesses that cater to collector items like comic books, coins, art, model plains, watches, and similar items. I was able to easily find items on the database, and I was particularly impressed with how much detailed information is available for each one. I also liked that you can customize everything from item descriptions to viewing layouts, so you can set up the inventory database exactly as you want.

Like Book Keeper, you will need a subscription to enjoy full access to iCollect Everything’s tools and features. However, I found the database alone to justify the subscription, as it is vast and highly detailed, making it a great choice to easily keep an inventory of collector’s items.

So, these are my top 3 favorite apps for keeping control of inventory. Depending on your business, one might be more suitable for you than the other. In my brother’s case, he particularly liked Book Keeper. So far, he’s been using it for over 2 weeks and he’s found it to be really helpful and time-saving. With any of these apps, you will easily save time and money, and keep a close control of your business’ inventory!
