How To File GSTR-1 Online in India

The filing of the GSTR 1 tax form will be done online on GST Portal by the registered taxpayer or his/her representative. The process for filing GST Return 1 Form is quite simple. You just need to login to your account on the portal and then browse and open the relevant form (GSTR1 in this case). Some of the details will be auto populated based on your registration and tax information. You can fill the remaining details as you go.

Step By Step GSTR 1 Return File Process for July Month

Step 1: Visit GST Portal and log in using your details.

Step 2: Go to Services >> Returns >> Returns Dashboard

Step 3: The return filing page will open in a new window. Select the year and month for which you wish to file the return and click on Search button.

Step 4: Choose one of the two return filing options from online and offline filing, for GSTR1 tile. Click on ‘Prepare Online’ if you want to file the return online.

Step 5: Now, you need to enter the details of the outward supplies (as mentioned in the checklist above) in respective tables.

Step 6: Go to the tile (GST Return Form) for which you want to enter the details. Click on Add Invoice option to provide the invoice information. Click Save once you’re done.

Step 7: On the next page, you can see the summary of the invoice details entered by you. You can edit the details anytime during the filing process, but not after the return is filed completely.

Step 8: Click on Back button to fill the remaining heads of the GSTR 1 Form. You can also file separate invoices for individual receivers.

Step 9: Similarly, you need to file all the details in all tables of this form including credit/debit notes if any.

Step 10: Once you are done entering the details, you need to sign a declaration at the end of the form and then submit it online.

Step 11: An acknowledgement will generate with a unique number.
