Happy Color Festival in India 2016

Holi is the festival of colors. People in are very passionate and energized about it. Holi is recognized as the main Hindu festival of Hinduism. It is the festival of unity, peace and love. Holi has been derived from the word ‘Hora’ which is the word to the god to thank for the outcome harvest.

People say that Holi is based upon a real story . There was a king named Hirnay kashyap, who wanted to kill his son Prahlad because he didn’t paid tribute to him. So Hirnay kashyap asked her sister Holika to carry Prahlad in her lap and sit in fire, but Holika had godly power upon her that she can never burn. But god did not approve of it and Holika died. That is why there is a ritual of Holika dehan to show the victory symbol of good over bad.

On the next day after holika dehan, Dulhandi is celebrated where people play with colors and wash away all the cast discriminations, complexion differences and differences upon gender. Kids in India are very curious to play with water colors and dry colors, so they start to play very early in the morning. And so are the elders, they also forget the past and hug their enemies, play with colors and eat the delicious sweets which are prepared by the women.

This festival is celebrated because of the colors, which fill up our upcoming future with happiness. But some people use harmful colors, which makes this festival pallid. In some backward towns and villages in India people use cow dung and other kinds of dirty stuff to play Holi, which is just unbearable. In the ancient times, people used to play holi with some flowers also.

Nowadays, Holi is just not limited till India only but it is also spreading in other parts of the world like Germany, Los Angeles, South Africa, London and many numerous parts of the world. The main cause of the spread of this festival despite belonging to another community is Life. Every year many countries are getting attracted towards this Hindu tradition not only because of its vibrancy but also because of its single policy and the global value; Life.

This festival should be celebrated with love and harmony. We should throw colors only on them, who really are in a state of celebrating this event. And should not throw colors on them who are physically challenged or hospitable people. We should not drink alcohol or should drink-drive and should not intake other types of drugs, whose results may not be good. If we will look upon the upper written points, we may will be able to fill up our lives with these vivid colors, and make this event happening.
